The History Behind Archery

Some of the first record of Ancient Archery was in Central Asia around 2500 BC, and these Ancient Archers began with a Long Bow which developed into the Re-curve Bow around 1500 BC. The Egyptians advanced the use of Bow and Arrow, as they did with a good amount of other Sports. These Bows required a certain amount of skill and a goodly amount of practice for harvesting food and use in war. The Modern Archers have developed the Compound Bow with its pin point accuracy; but for some the Traditional Archery (Long and Re-curve Bows) has an appreciation of the skill needed to guide an arrow home the still runs deep in the sport of Archery. At Woodland Archery we have designed a course in the woods that can entertain all skill levels.
